In February 2015 Krista collected and arranged traditional and modern lullabies and was inspired by her sister/niece, godchildren and other raggle-taggle sweethearts and wrote a series of original songs for ukulele and voice using simple chord progressions.
What you are listening to are these very songs. Sparked by a love of story-telling and rooted in oral tradition and musical memory, we hope these songs become a part of your life in sweet and unexpected ways. We've added the lyrics and song sheets so that you can sing and play along if you have a ukulele (ideally linear tuning in C).
This project was made possible in part by the CALQ. French lyrics edited by Roxanne Arsenault. Photograph taken by Nelson Tam at the April 18th Rusholme Salon Show where Krista was an Artist in Residence. Recorded and mixed by Guillermo Subauste (http://www.pachasound.com/) in Toronto, April 2015.
