KRISTA MUIR

Krista Muir lives in a world of surrealism, cuckoo clocks and antique lampshades. Since the early 2000’s she has released seven full length albums (under her name or fauxvarian alter ego Lederhosen Lucil), several singles, co-written with Kid Koala (for Yo! Gabba Gabba!), published an art book entitled The Joy of Hosen, toured internationally with acts such as DJ Kid Koala and performed regularly at festivals like SXSW, Pop Montreal and CMJ. She has collaborated several times with award winning filmmaker Kara Blake.

Other projects include interactive operetta Kit Operette (Gaité Lyrique, Paris, 2012), Chanson-O-Gramme custom love song project (2013-2017), and a mini album of original bilingual lullabies A Pocket Full of Lullabies (2015).

Muir was the inaugural artist-in-residence at Fisch Haus in 2016 (Wichita, KS) and FL!GHT Gallery in 2017 (San Antonio, TX), where she gave performances, organized multidisciplinary events and collaborated with local artists to create new work and experience cultural exchange.

Most recently Muir released her 7th full length album “The Tides” (2018) – a cathartic collection of misfit songs, many centering on her experience with the chronic illness endometriosis. She continues to receive commissions from admirers of her lyrical alchemy and looks forward to future editions of the interactive “song-telling” Chanson-O-Gramme: Beloved Object project that premiered in Wichita, Kansas at Fisch Haus in March 2016.

___________________________________________________

LEDERHOSEN LUCIL

Lederhosen Lucil (aka. Krista Muir) is a fauxvarian pop princess who has landed on planet earth with her many-themed “hosen” (frozenhosen, intergalactichosen, gardenhosen…) to bring laughter, joy and music to the masses. She is here to discover the quirks and quarks of human nature while making people dance to her kitsch music! With an army of vintage keyboards and mini instrument collection, Lucil will charm you with both melody and wit. A favourite of co-collaborator DJ Kid Koala, Lucil has released one cassette “Let’s Hose!”, three full-length albums (Hosemusik, Tales From The Pantry and Guten Tag Gemini!), and a 7″ single Apricota featuring the Kid Koala remix of Semi-Sweet (also an amazing demented puppet video by Kara Black). Lucil’s motto: Always make time to hose! Favourite foods: Dried apricots and licorice allsorts
